This piece is about the Black Nazarene's yearly feast and parade in Quiapo, Manila. Here, I want to present an image of something that isn't there. The cross-shaped rope that pulls the cart of the object of their fanaticism has turned into an amulet, a charm, that would protect them from physical harm, absolve them of their sins, and grant them their wishes.
